Ear syringing is a technique of removing ear wax by flushing water through the ear canal using a specialist piece of equipment by a trained professional to get rid of any excess wax.
Irrigation has been given such a poor reputation over the last decade. When microsuction became the new trend, irrigation was, and still is, marketed by some companies as unsafe or less effective, but this is not the case. Irrigation is considered safe and effective at ear wax removal and much more mobile than microsuction with less risk to damage in the ear.
Ultimately no. Although it is described as a bit of a strange sensation, you can often feel dizzy when wax is dislodged, especially if it's quite a large blockage. If you have a history of tinnitus this service can cause some temporary discomfort.
The high majority of people do not report a feeling of being dizzy, however a few people can feel dizziness. The ears are an important part of balance and any change can disrupt this. The dizzy feeling normally only lasts a few minutes after the procedure and a trained professional will stay until the feeling passes.
Anybody who is 18 or older and can consent to the procedure can have this treatment done. I have treated people from 18 up to 102!
Ear wax buildup can cause blocked ears as well as a range of symptoms which can be improved once the excess wax has been removed.
These include ear ache, fullness in the ear, hearing loss, tinnitus, itchiness and dizziness. Having the ear wax professionally removed can help all of the above.
I cover the whole of the ME postcode area within the set prices, however I am happy to travel outside of this area at an increased cost - get in touch for a custom quote.
The best part about having the treatment in your own home is that anyone who lives there can be there including babies and animals. I also offer multiple discounts for same household treatments - so feel free to invite friends and family.
I would suggest getting the treatment done 3-4 times a year maximum. However it could be a one off treatment.
There is no evidence to suggest that ear wax causes pain when flying unless the ears are completely occluded (blocked up). In this instance pressure equalisation between the outer and middle ears cannot take place causing pain.
